One Crafty Gal…

***warning: this is a photo-heavy post.  It make take a while to load.  Also, the picture quality leaves much to be desired.  This was one of those “oh no, this is a gift and I have to give it away now, but I forgot to take really great photos of it” kind of deals.  Be kind.***

My daughter, Abs, who just turned 13 last month is an amazing girl.  She’s so smart and quick and creative.  Today I’m going to share with you a project she made all by herself that I think turned out just fabulous.

If you’ve not seen or heard about Kathy Files, aka the Paper Phenomenon, you are seriously missing out.  Her projects are original, challenging, extremely well designed, and a blast to put together.  You will not find more unique or better constructed paper crafting projects anywhere.

This project was made using the Little Miss Cupcake tutorial.  We made a few adjustments to the design in order to use the supplies we already had on hand.

The albums pages are not heavily decorated.  She wanted to leave them bare so that the recipient would have lots of room to add her personal notes and personality to the album as well as have plenty of room for photos.

I think she did a marvelous job on the whole thing.  I really only helped her with cutting the chipboard pieces since we do all of that by hand with a box cutter.  I don’t think she’s quite ready for that yet!
