The Homeschool Project

I fell into a burning ring of fire…

Well, it’s official. I’ve been sucked into the workbox world. I can already here my dear friend, Paula, calling out to me… “No! No, Sara! Just walk away from the shiny distraction.” Ugh. But I just can’t. I’m too intrigued. This system has potential and I can’t just pass it up. If you haven’t heard, there’s a new ‘movement’ in the homeschooling world known as Sue Patrick’s Workbox System. And if you haven’t heard… well you’re going to now. : ) Straight from Sue’s website, here’s a ... continue reading...

And the winner is…

picked by the randomness of Random.org, Poster #1 – Jenn @ Beautiful Calling! Thank you all very much for playing along. I enjoyed reading each and every comment about what you guys were making – you guys are some pretty cool gals!! I do love making cards and I actually spent a few years teaching scrapbook classes and coordinating my own retreats. Man, did we have a blast! Of course, we would be making cards, stamping and crafting all kinds of fun stuff. I would love to see that ... continue reading...

Middle Ages… and I don’t mean mine!

This week there’s lots going on around here. Yes, I know it’s already half-way over! : P Monday we finished up our Middle Ages lapbooks from In the Hands of a Child available at Currclick.. We also used a printable coat of arms coloring page that I can’t seem to find the link for. I tend to lose all kinds of things since I turned 30 - Sorry! But I just googled coat of arms and found some great alternatives. : ) Beans and I have been reading My Father's ... continue reading...

WeE-books…

Remember a while back, during convention season, I told you about a mini e-book I had read called The Value of Homeschool Conventions. Well I’ve read about five of those little WeE-books and they’re not half bad! TOS has 30+ weE-books available in their homeschool store and I’ve acquired several. (ya’ll know how I like to read) A bit longer than your average blog post, weE-books are still quick reads, focusing on various aspects of homeschooling or child-rearing. Imagine searching the ... continue reading...

I bet I could make that…

I was recently given an e-book to review that was published by The Old Schoolhouse. Now, let me start by saying that I own and have read a ton of e-books. I’m just one of those people that love to read. I have read Pride and Prejudice, Emma and Sense and Sensibility all on my ipod’s 3” x 2” screen. I’m serious about my reading. Give me a bottle of lotion and I’ll read every last word on it – down to the ‘question and comments’ phone number printed in the most miniscule print the company can ... continue reading...
