a pretty good deal

This is not what I planned on blogging about today but I just had to share this deal with you.  I got an email from TOS today about a new subscription sale they are having for The Old Schoolhouse Magazine.    I first saw this magazine at our local homeschool convention two years ago.  We received a sample issue in our convention goodie bags.  I was happy to have received another one at this year’s convention as well.  It’s a very nice magazine!  I found lots ... continue reading...

How geeky can I get?

I’m about to tell you something that will confirm my geekness to all who’ve ever suspected it. (though, they’re probably already convinced : P ) I adore forms. Printing them, filling them out, putting them all neatly in a binder – few things in life delight me more than data entry and mind-numbing tasks. If you are a frequent reader of this blog, then you’ve probably noticed the ... continue reading...

Just going nowhere. = ) This week my husband was on ‘vacation’ from work and we took a day trip yesterday for a bit longer excursion than our usual 1 hour tour. On a whim, we ended up at Meramec Caverns and took a tour of the cave hideout of Jesse and Frank James. It was a good day. Here’s some of ... continue reading...

Sonlight Core K Supplements

A while back I posted a slew of resources for our Sonlight lessons. Now that I pretty much have the olders’ curriculum and schedule worked out, I’ve begun to focus more on the youngers. This year we started Sonlight’s Core K and have slowly worked our way through about half of it. I remember when the olders did Core K, we rushed through the end because we were always playing ‘catch up’. I’ve decided that this time around we will continue our leisurely pace and really enjoy the last weeks ... continue reading...
