Home life The Homeschool Project

Park day…

Today was a great day spent at the park.  My local homeschool group meets once a month during the summer at a state park.  I always forget the date and find out how much fun everyone had later on.  And today was no exception to my forgetfulness.  But thank goodness for Facebook.  Fortunately for me, some friends had posted their plans and I was reminded!  It was only 8:20 am so I decided we’d give it a go, completely unprepared, unplanned.    The kids ... continue reading...

Window on the World…

If you’re a Sonlighter, you probably have this book.  It’s a resource used in Core 2.  The cover will also look familiar to many seminary students as it is very similar to the cover of another book called Operation World. I’ll give a full report on this new study we’re doing in a later post, but for now, just know that it’s worth checking out. Beans just finished ... continue reading...

Sonlight and Workboxes

Getting back to my two favorite homeschool subjects this week – Sonlight and Workboxes – I thought you might like to know how we’re combining the two.  Let’s jump in!    2 cores/4 kids – This coming year we will be doing Core K (with 5 and 6 year olds) and Core 3 (with 8 and 10 year olds).  The youngers are not even halfway through Core k, so I’m expecting us to use the entire school year to finish.  The olders will only get about halfway through Core 3, I ... continue reading...
