Beehive Reader 1…

Homeschool Crew

I am so excited to tell you about the new Beehive Reader 1 from the same folks who brought us All About Spelling. Beehive Reader 1

A silver medal winner in the Moonbeam Children’s Book Awards, Beehive Reader 1 is the first in a new series of readers that correlates with All About Spelling.  It is also the first peek into a new curriculum slated to be released this year called All About Reading.  By the end of 2010, All About Learning expects to have published four more readers and a teacher’s manual.  In fact, they’re being illustrated right now!

I am completely in love with this series and I cannot wait to get the next one coming this spring.  Feast your eyes on these beautiful illustrations.

There are some wonderful features to notice about this book, such as:

  • the pages are printed on non-glare paper
  • it utilizes natural phrasing and line-breaks for smooth reading
  • light underlining helps students with tracking (keeping on the same line all the way across a line of writing) but is light enough to not be a distraction
  • nice, slightly-heavy feel hardcover – this book feels so good to hold onto

I really, really, really love this book.  I wish all my son’s readers were like this book.  He loves it as well and proved it by devouring all ten stories in two days!  Seriously!

I will update you when the new books are available, but until then you should just go buy a copy of Beehive Reader 1.  : )  like… yesterday!
