Art Journaling …

Art journaling is one of those things I’ve admired from a distance, thinking to myself, “how in the world does anyone do that?”  If you take 20 minutes to watch someone create an art journal page on Youtube, you’ll be astounded at the creativity that flows onto the pages.  I’m absolutely blown away everytime.  After watching countless hours of art journaling on Youtube, I finally broke down and tried it myself.  I just couldn’t stand it any longer.  It looked like so much fun and I don’t like missing a party!

Art Journaling inspiration all around

You don’t have to search very far to find some incredibly talented art journalers (is that a word?) online.  A quick search of the Youtubes will settle that for you and give you more inspiration than you can shake a stick at.  Here are some of my favorites:

  • Christy Tomlinson
  • Vicky Papaioannou
  • Lindsay Weirich
  • Rach0113
  • france papillion

I could seriously watch them all day long.

But enough of that.   I wanted to see what it was all about for myself and tonight I made my first every art journal page!  Yeah, me!  It was lots of fun.

The colors don’t look as vibrant as they do in person which is a little disappointing.  I really enjoyed the process even though I kept wishing I had some other tools, mainly some Faber-Castell piit pens!  One of these days maybe.  But anyhoo, I am eager to do it again soon.  The quote pretty much sums up what I adore in life.  Beautiful things, especially creation, and being happy.  Nothing refreshes my soul quite like the majestic work of creation.  Probably why I love art so much.

Hopefully, I’ll have some more art journaling to share with you in the coming weeks.  I’m plugging away at the dollhouse.  It’s been a slow go.  I should have it done this week though.

Until then,

Make awesome art!
